We have been busy since Christmas preparing for our first summer at home in Arizona since 2015. Check out our Youtube video for a fun look at our new backyard.
2022 offers new opportunities as our summer retreat plans have to be cancelled due to catastrophic failure on our RV slideouts. We share the stories behind past favorite images and our hope for this year's shooting opportunities offered by being home most of the year. Join us for a bit more of our personal journey as photographers and artists.
We know everyone is busy and the last thing you need to spend your time on is worthless content. Our aim for every newsletter mailing is to add value through interesting content and entertainment for your time.
We have opened up our home office for a tour! No, it is not elaborate, but it is quite functional and comfortable for two humans, two dogs, two desks, two chairs, two CPUs and four monitors. We have two printers and a scanner and all our lens, camera bodies, frames and small prints stored behind the curtain. Where else would you hide the magic than behind a curtain? lol
Ed will share his favorite photo editing software. His process can get pretty involved so it is a great thing the engineer in him loves techy stuff. Susan calls what she does play. It is in playing the the real creative side flourishes for her. Struggling with techy stuff all but shuts her down. We make a great team!
This short video tells the story behind the three new images uploaded to our website. One horse in Monument Valley, Koi at the Phoenix Japanese Tea Garden and another horse in the Lower Salt River Valley of Arizona.
Sometimes the story behind the scenes is the fun stuff. Although we hope our blog includes helpful information, we also love to laugh and so are sharing a test image shot before recording the Print Media Choices video. Huck, our new puppy, is trying to tell Ed he wants in the video. We did have several sound interruptions from him slamming into the doggie door, whining to come inside, and his toenails clicking on the wood floor. Ahh, the fun of kids and pets. lol
Selecting how you want your fine art prints to be made can be confusing. Ed has made a short overview video to explain the types of media he chose for prints on our website. He will cover papers, canvas, wood, metal and acrylic choices. Each type of media has its benefits and the decisions of what to offer were based on the style of Ed's photographs and our personal experiences having them printed on various materials over the years. Framing is also a personal choice and may be overwhelming; we will address framing in another post.
Questions about a style you are considering for your use? Ed is available by email, phone or Zoom meeting to discuss your personal needs. Our goal is your utter delight with your beautiful new artwork.
